Jane Morris 2022What a treat to interview Jane Morris again! We first spoke with this well-respected actor, writer, improviser, and comedy legend in March 2019. Jane is a very, very funny person and I learned so much about her improv philosophy. She is also a very gifted writer and director! We spoke about her ongoing career as an actor in film and TV and also about the actors and directors she worked with that including Gary Marshall. Marshall was especially taken with her character work and they worked on several projects together. You may remember her as Nora O’Dougherty from her many appearances on the Drew Cary show.

Morris is the Johnny Appleseed of starting comedy clubs, having opened the Chicago Comedy Showcase, the Second City ETC, Second City Los Angeles, Upfront Comedy, the Comedy Underground and currently managing the https://fanaticsalon.com

in Culver City. She has most recently been seen in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Shameless, AP Bio, and The Laundromat.

Jane is a founding member of the Second City ETC in Chicago, and she was the first woman director who was instrumental in changing the cast dynamic from the traditional 4 men 2 woman troupe to 4 women and 3 men.

She teaches writing for performance workshops at the fanaticSalon every Wednesday evening and performs live at the venue on a very regular basis.
