Gary Ware – Playing His Way to Happiness

Gary WareWhat an incredible interview with the playful Gary Ware! Thanks to our mutual coach, Jay Sukow for introducing us so I could learn about Gary’s inspiring story. It was exciting to chat with another believer about the power play has to transform lives. Gary’s love of helping others find the playful path in their lives resonated with me. We spoke about the blocks adults face with play and the difference between Childish and Childlike!
After experiencing burnout in corporate leadership in pursuit of success and happiness, Gary realized he was missing “play” in his life leading Gary to his life’s purpose: to assist others in unlocking their creativity, confidence, and better communication through the power of play. He shares his childhood challenges in school with undiagnosed ADHA and dyslexia and how he triumphed over these blocks to learning. We had so many shared experiences, believing in the healing power of play for adults as well as children. When he discovered improv he realized that play could improve all areas of his life; from relationships to confidence and creativity. I was lucky enough to read a copy of his book “Playful Rebellion” which is just wonderful. It is being released in September 2022 and you can pre-order now! https://www.breakthroughplay.com/playful-rebellion/ You can see Gary in his Tedx talk at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzE3pBr7EL8 other improv teachers and innovators including Colin Mochrie and David Pasquesi *Improv Interviews podcast‘ is introduced by Susan L.
